NOT is a combination of me exploring the faster, "punk" side of this project and also embracing the more derivative aspects of my songwriting. I pretty blatantly rip off True Widow, Armed, and Daughters here, somewhat consciously (as I always wear my influences on my sleeve).

I've pretty much written off BE HAPPY, as I've used all but one of the songs I was gonna put on it on other things, including the one that appears here.

darryl zero is entirely responsible for everything on this recording, including drum programming, keyboards, bass/baritone/tenor/electric guitars, and vocals.

NOT was tracked at various points in May 2022, except "Be Something," which was largely tracked in November of 2021. All instruments recorded in Zero's bedroom.

The final mix and "master" of this EP occurred somewhere in the air between Minneapolis, Minnesota and Portland, Oregon, on Alaska Airlines flight 1375 on 23rd June 2022.
